The Egyptian side will be hosted by Nouadhibou at Stade Cheikha Ould Boïdiya stadium in the second round of the prestigious continental tournament group stage.
The debutants in the Champions League Pyramids FC kicked off their group stage campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over DR Congo's TP Mazembe at Cairo's Air Defence Stadium on 24 November.
The big-spending club now sit at the top of Group A, which also features TP Mazembe, title contenders Mamelodi Sundowns, and the lesser-fancied FC Nouadhibou.
In Saturday’s game, the Egyptian side will be missing some key players like Moroccan midfielder Walid El-Karti, veteran playmaker Abdallah El-Saied, winger Ibrahim Adel, midfielder Mahmoud Abdel-Aaty 'Dunga,' and Nigerian attacker Samuel Ojo due to different injures.
Despite the several absentees, Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco vowed that Pyramids FC will deliver a strong game in Nouakchott.
“We play Saturday’s game to win the three points. Pyrmaids FC plays every game to compete for all titles,” the coach said in the pre-match press conference on Friday.
“The game will not be an easy one as our opponents are a strong team especially when they play at home. We studied them well and we will play a strong game as we are determined not to lose any points in the group stage to secure early qualification for the next round,” he added.
On the other side, hosts Nouadhibou will be aiming to restore their balance after the heavy 3-0 loss in the opening match away against Mamelodi Sundowns.
