Gamal confirmed that the team is determined to compete for the championship title.

"Zamalek is a prominent team, and our objective is to advance deep into the tournament since top teams always vie for the title," stated Gamal during the post-game press conference.

"We will give our utmost effort to win any competition we participate in," he added.

Dominating the game from the outset, the Cairo giants sought to secure their first continental title since 2003.

SOAR Coyah struggled to create opportunities, and their chances further dwindled when midfielder Aboubacar Yatara received a direct red card in the 72nd minute, reducing them to 10 men.

Currently leading Group B with six points, Zamalek sit ahead of Libyan side Abu Salim and Angola's Sagrada Esperança, who suffered a 1-0 defeat in the other group match on Sunday.

Zamalek's next challenge will be against Ittihad of Alexandria on the eighth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

"We will shift our focus from African games to concentrate on the league, aiming to enhance our attacking style of play within the team," Gamal added.

He further promised: "I assure you that the team will exhibit convincing performances in the upcoming matches."

In the league teams' table, Zamalek currently occupies the seventh position with 11 points after playing seven games this season, with three victories, two draws, and two defeats.
