The reigning champions host Algeria's Belouizdad on Friday in the third round of group-stage matches, aiming to maintain their top spot in Group D.
“All the games in the CAF Champions League are difficult. Belouizdad are strong rivals who are motivated to win and improve their position in the group, which is very tightly contested,” Koller said during the pre-match press conference.
The Swiss tactician acknowledged the challenge posed by the Algerian champions but remained confident in his team's ability to secure a positive result.
"We are ready for the game. We have strong motives to win," Koller asserted.
However, Koller acknowledged the demanding schedule his players are facing, highlighting the impact of fatigue and mental strain.
"The players are human beings that need rest and recovery to continue their performances that are affected by those factors," he explained. "But generally, things are going well and we have more than one championship to compete for."
Koller also addressed comparisons between Ahly's legendary last season and the current one, emphasizing the team's commitment to future success. "Everyone is doing everything possible to win championships and make the fans happy," he concluded.
Ahly currently hold a slender one-point advantage over both Medeama and Belouizdad, while Young Africans sit at the bottom of the group with just one point.
