The Cairo giants delivered an outstanding performance at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and shocked their hosts and home fans with a big 3-1 victory, reaching the prestigious tournament semis for the sixth time.

“Ahly always play to win. Our players delivered outstanding performance and deserved the victory with this score,” Koller said in a press conference after the match.

“We deal with every game separately according to our opponent’s level. Today we played well, scored goals and every player provided a unique level,” the Swiss coach added.

Ahly are now waiting for an exciting game when they face Brazil's Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense in the semis on Monday.

Koller refused to talk about his team's chances to reach the final, confirming that he is focused on the next round only.

“We are now thinking only of the semifinal. Fluminense is a strong team and I watched their 2-1 win over Boca Juniors 2-1 in the Copa Libertadores final earlier in November,” the Ahly coach said.

“The temperature here is moderate and this is a very good thing for us. Also, we played in an outstanding pitch and I think it is important to feel comfortable to deliver a good performance like what we did today,” he concluded.
