7 Egyptian referees selected for Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced on Thursday the inclusion of seven Egyptian referees in the final list for officiating duties at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The 34th edition of the competition will be hosted by Cote d'Ivoire and is scheduled to take place from January 13th to February 11th.

Among the selected referees, Amin Omar, Mohamed Adel, and Mohamed Maarouf have been chosen as field referees.

Additionally, Mahmoud Abou El-Regal and Ahmed Hossam Taha have been named assistant referees, while Mahmoud Ashour and Mahmoud El-Bana will serve as VAR referees.

Egypt, along with Morocco, has the highest representation of referees in the continental competition, with both countries contributing seven referees each.

Algeria follow closely in third place with five referees, while hosts Cote d'Ivoire will have three referees representing them.
