Ahly emerged as champions after defeating Modern Future FC 4-2 on Thursday in the final game of the new-format Egyptian Super Cup, which was held in the UAE.

Coach Koller said his team performed admirably throughout the game and deserved to win the title.

"Ahly started the game with great intensity in the first half, but we missed several scoring opportunities in the second half, which made the mission more challenging," Koller said in a statement on the club's official website following the game.

The opening goal came from winger Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim just 13 minutes into the match, and Hussein El-Shahat's strike in the 34th minute doubled the lead.

However, second-half substitutes Omar El-Said and Mohamed Mahmoud managed to level the score for Modern Future in the latter part of the second half.

Substitute Anthony Modeste secured victory with a decisive header in the 114th minute, followed by Karim Fouad's goal two minutes later to seal the win.

"I had confidence in Modeste's ability to score and maintain his self-confidence, as he plays an important role within the team. He moves well inside the area, which eases his scoring," Koller added, praising the substitute's performance.

"I am pleased with Modeste's contribution, and I hope he can build on today's game for future matches," he added.

Koller also expressed his overall satisfaction with the team's first trophy of the season and promised to strive for more titles in the future.

Meanwhile, Ahly winger Hussein El-Shahat, who scored the team's second goal, expressed his desire for the team to continue their winning streak and secure additional titles throughout the season.

"It was a hard-fought trophy, and I hope Ahly can carry this momentum forward to win the remaining titles," El-Shahat said.

Emam Ashour, another winger for Ahly, expressed his happiness at winning his first trophy with the team and extended his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support.

"I would like to thank all of Ahly's fans for their support. Our primary objective is to satisfy the fans by winning all the trophies," Ashour said.

Veteran midfielder Amr El-Sulaya emphasized Ahly's relentless pursuit of victory, stating that the team is solely focused on winning more trophies after the Thursday title..

"We played a series of challenging and intense matches in a short period, which left us exhausted. However, we are well aware that Ahly is accustomed to overcoming difficulties and emerging victorious," El-Sulaya stated.

Midfielder Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdi regarded the Egyptian Super Cup victory as a positive start to the new year.

He acknowledged that the team still faces numerous challenges in the ongoing season but expressed confidence in their ability to overcome them.
