Following the recent lifting of the transfer ban imposed by FIFA, the White Knights shifted their focus on rebuilding their squad during the winter transfer window.

Among the players who have departed are defender Hatem Sokkar, who reportedly joined Ismaily for a two-year deal, and midfielder Karim Abdel-Hak, who has joined second-division side Tersana on loan.

Midfielder Mohamed Hossam Beso and young forward Mostafa Shokri have also left the Zamalek squad, joining El Sekka El Hadid SC on loan.

Defenders Mohamed Tarek left the team to join Masry for a two-year contract, while Ahmed Zaki has become a free agent.

The transfer ban was imposed on Zamalek last year due to several cases involving unpaid dues to clubs and players.

However, the ban was lifted last week, enabling the club to engage in new signings.

Zamalek wasted no time in making their first acquisition of the winter transfer window, signing Tanta forward Mohamed Atef.

According to local media reports, the Whites are reportedly close from signing U23 midfielder Mohamed Shehata from Talae El-Geish and Ugandan winger Travis Mutyaba from Kampala City.

Zamalek are also interested in signing striker Fady Farid from Smouha and Brazilian striker Vinicius Souza from Internacional on loan.

Furthermore, talks are underway to sign Pyramids FC veteran playmaker Abdallah El-Said, 38, from Pyramids FC.

Zamalek are 12th place on the league table with 11 points from eight matches, trailing leaders ZED FC by eight points, with the latter having played two more matches.
