This change will take effect starting from the 13th matchday of the EPL, which also commences on Sunday.
Ahmed Diab, president of the EPL, expressed his gratitude to the security forces for approving their request to raise the number of football attendees in both the Premier League and the final game of the 2023/2024 League Cup.
Diab shared this news during an early morning television program on Sunday.
"The decision to raise the number of fans to 20,000 will be implemented beginning with the 13th matchday. It is important for the teams to work towards bringing their supporters back to the stadiums to support them in the upcoming games," Diab added.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all football matches in Egypt have been held behind closed doors throughout the 2021 season.
However, in October 2021, a partial lifting of the spectator ban coincided with the start of the domestic league season that year.
During the 2022 season, the number of attendees per game gradually increased from 2,000 to 6,000.
At the beginning of the 2023/2024 season, the attendance limit was further raised to 10,000 fans.
This decision to raise the number of fans came in response to a request made by Hossam Hassan, the newly appointed coach for Egypt's national team.
Upon signing his contract, Hassan expressed his desire to see an increase in the number of fans allowed in stadiums.
