Zizo requires rest from minor ankle injury before Ahly clash in Egypt Cup final: Zamalek doctor

Zamalek's dynamic winger Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed ihas been given the green light to participate in the upcoming game against arch-rivals Ahly in the Egypt Cup final after recovering from an ankle injury in a recent game.

The medical staff is working to expedite Zizo's recovery after he exited the field during the match against Libya's Abu Salim in the Confederation Cup on Sunday with an ankle injury, explained Mohamed Osama, Zamalek's team doctor.

"Zizo suffered a sprained ankle during the game and he requires some rest to prepare for the upcoming matches," Osama told reporters after the game.

"Zizo's medical tests indicate a minor injury," he added.

The highly anticipated 2022-23 Egypt Cup final between Ahly and Zamalek is scheduled for 8 March in Saudi Arabia.

Defending champions Ahly secured their place in the final after securing a 3-0 victory over Enppi in the semi-finals.

On the other hand, Zamalek earned their spot in the Egypt Cup final after an exhilarating win with Pyramids FC in a game that ended in a 3-3 draw during regular time and was eventually decided by penalty shots.

In other Zamalek news, the White Knights will face Dakhleya in the 14th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

They will host Guinea's SOAR Coyah in the final round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage next week.

The White Knights have secured qualification to the quarterfinals of the Confederation Cup as group leaders with 13 points with one game remaining.
