Cairo giants Zamalek will be seeking their first Egyptian League victory under the guidance of their newly appointed coach, Jose Gomes, as they prepare to host Dakhleya on Thursday at Cairo Stadium.

Gomes' tenure got off to a frustrating start with a draw against Ismaili last week. However, the team managed to secure a morale-boosting win over Abu Salim in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, ensuring their qualification to the competition's knockout stage.

Securing a win against Dakhleya is important for the White Knights as they look to improve their position in the league table.

Currently, they sit in 14th place with 12 points from nine games, trailing leaders Enppi by 14 points, who have played five more matches.

Zamalek might face uncertainty as captain Mahmoud 'Shikabala' Abdel-Razek is doubtful due to a foot injury, and dynamic winger Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed is reportedly set to be rested to avoid aggravating his ankle injury.

However, Zamalek's newly signed trio of Abdallah El-Said, Nasser Maher, and Seif Farouk Gaafar will be available for selection against Dakhleya, as they were ineligible to play in Sunday's game against Abu

International fullback Ahmed Fatouh is expected to participate in the match after recovering from a muscular injury.

On the other hand, Dakhleya, currently second from the bottom with only 8 points from 12 games, will be aiming for a positive result against the White Knights to move out of the relegation zone.
