Modern Future are approaching their home match against Al Hilal in the sixth and final round of Group A games with caution, as a draw will be enough to secure a quarterfinal berth.
Currently sitting in second place in Group A, Modern Future have accumulated eight points after five rounds, trailing group leaders USM Alger from Algeria, who have already secured their spot in the quarterfinals, by two points.
Al Hilal currently occupy the third spot with six points, two points ahead of Supersport United.
In their previous meeting in December, Modern Future emerged victorious with a 2-1 win at Libya's Benina Martyrs Stadium.
Modern Future coach Tamer Mostafa acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming clash against Al Hilal, describing it as a "fateful match."
However, he offered assurances that all his players are in good health and available for the game.
"We are aware of the challenging situation we are in as we prepare to face Libya's Al Hilal," said Mostafa.
"I hope that luck is on our side and we secure qualification because we aspire to achieve a historic accomplishment by reaching the quarterfinals for the first time,” the Modern Future FC coach said.
“Our goal is to go as far as possible in the Confederation Cup,” Mostafa concluded.
Modern Future kicked off their group stage campaign with a 1-0 victory over SuperSport United.
They followed it up with a 2-1 win against Al Hilal before suffering a 1-0 loss to USM Alger in their away fixture.
The Egyptian side then held USM Alger to a goalless draw and played out a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United last week.
