In a statement released by SOAR Coyah, the club addressed their supporters, informing them that unforeseen travel difficulties have affected the team's ability to reach Cairo in time for the game.

SOAR were set to face Egypt's Zamalek at Cairo International Stadium late on Sunday.

However, due to the team's delayed arrival, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) canceled the pre-game press conference and is currently deliberating on the final decision.

The club's statement mentioned their communication with the African Football Confederation (CAF) and their active pursuit of options to postpone the match.

Meanwhile, the team is heading back to Kankan from Bamako, awaiting CAF's response and preparing for their next match against Milo FC.

SOAR Coyah expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and understanding of their fans during this challenging period.

They assured the supporters that they would provide updates as soon as they received any news.

The club thanked their loyal fans and expressed confidence in overcoming this obstacle to continue shining in the tournament.

SOAR Coyah currently finds themselves at the bottom of Group B with only one point, while Zamalek has already secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the continental tournament.

With 13 points after completing five rounds, Zamalek leads Group B, holding a four-point advantage over second-placed Abu Sleem of Libya.

Their previous encounter in December resulted in a 4-0 victory for Zamalek in Guinea, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated rematch.

Worth mentioning, Zamalek has reportedly refused to postpone the game due to their busy schedule. The team is scheduled to face arch-rivals Ahly in the 2022-23 Egypt Cup final on 8 March in Saudi Arabia.
