Ahly manager, Marcel Koller, stated on Wednesday that his team is anticipating a challenging battle against Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final, emphasizing that Ahly's previous victories over Zamalek last season hold no significance in determining the outcome of the final.

The defending champions, Ahly, will face Zamalek in the 2022-2023 Egypt Cup final, set to take place in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Under Koller's guidance, Ahly defeated Zamalek three times with scores of 2-0, 3-0, and 4-1.

However, the Swiss coach stressed that he does not possess a special recipe for ensuring victory over Zamalek every time.

"Games against Zamalek are always difficult," Ahly coach Marcel Koller told the pre-match news conference.

"They are a good team, and our wins against them were the result of good preparation and hard work. Despite these wins, I don't have a recipe to guarantee victory."

Koller also highlighted that his team will be without three important players: goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy, Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng, and new signing striker Wessam Abou Ali.

He further revealed that three other players traveled with the team despite not being fully fit.

"We have several absences, but the team has many experienced players capable of dealing with this type of game," Koller commented.

Regarding the team's midfielder, Emam Ashour, who will be playing his first game against his former club Zamalek, Koller expressed confidence in Ashour's ability to handle the anticipated pressure.

Ahly secured their place in the final after comfortably defeating Enppi with a 3-0 victory in the semi-finals.
