Ashour broke the deadlock in the 86th minute, capitalizing on a well-timed run to slot home from close range. Then, in the dying moments of injury time, second-half substitute Afsha sent a well placed shot to beat Zamalek's keeper from outside the box.

This historic final marked the first time the Egypt Cup was contested outside of Egypt, with Saudi Arabia playing host to the 91st edition of the event.

Despite Zamalek's strong showing in the first half, with Mostafa Shalaby threatening on two occasions only to be denied by goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir, they couldn't find the breakthrough. Nasser Mansi also squandered a close-range header early in the second half.

Ahly, who had struggled to find their rhythm until the hour mark, rose to the occasion when it mattered most. Man of the match Ashour not only found the back of the net but also turned provider, setting up Afsha to secure the title. With this victory, Ahly not only clinched the cup but also claimed the substantial $950,000 prize money.

The Red Devils now cement their status as cup champions, widening the gap to 11 titles over Zamalek, who remain second in the history books with 28 titles to their name.
