Zamalek, seeking redemption after their recent loss in the Egypt Cup, will face Gouna at the Red Sea resort in an Egyptian League game on Tuesday.

Despite their dominant possession in the Egypt Cup final against Ahly, Zamalek failed to create clear scoring opportunities and suffered a defeat with two late goals.

Jose Gomes, the newly appointed coach, acknowledged this issue and expressed his determination to find a solution in upcoming matches.

Gomes discussed the team's performance against Ahly, stating, "We played well against Ahly, but we didn't create enough chances to secure the win."

Ahead of the game against Gouna, Zamalek will be without their classy winger Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed, who sustained an ankle injury during the Egypt Cup final.

Tunisian striker Seif Jasiri was also left out of the squad, and instead, Gomes opted for Nasser Mansi and Samson Akinyoola as replacements.

The Portuguese coach included only four of the ten winter signings in the squad for the Gouna clash, namely Abdallah El-Saed, Nasser Maher, Ahmed Hamdi, and Mohamed Shehata.

Zamalek is in need of a victory to improve their position in the league table.

Currently, they sit in 13th place with 15 points from ten games, trailing league leaders Enppi by 11 points, although Enppi has played five more matches.

Zamalek's most recent league appearance resulted in a narrow 1-0 win over Dakhleya, thanks to a late goal from Omar Gaber.

On the other hand, Gouna currently occupy the ninth position in the league table with 19 points from 13 games.
