The 29-year-old left-back joined Pyramids FC in July 2018, transferring from Masry. His previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current season, but Hamdi's decision to extend his stay demonstrates his commitment to the club.
Expressing his delight, Hamdi stated, "I'm very happy to renew my contract with Pyramids. I feel a strong connection with the club, as we are like a big family and always support each other."
He further expressed his aspirations for the team, saying, "I hope to contribute to future championships with my teammates. Despite the bad luck, we remain determined to achieve success."
Hamdi began his professional career in Ahly's youth sector and was promoted to the first team in 2014 during Juan Carlos Garrido's tenure as coach. He made three appearances for the Red Devils in the Egyptian Premier League.
In 2015, he went on loan to Arab Contractors, but his time at the club was limited to just two matches.
Following his loan spell, Hamdi joined Masry in 2016, where he drew attention with his performances for the coastal club. Throughout 81 games, he scored two goals while representing Masry.
Since his move to Pyramids FC in 2018, Hamdi has been an integral part of the team, featuring in 214 games across various competitions.
During this time, he has contributed seven goals and provided 21 assists, highlighting his versatility and impact on the field.
Hamdi received his first call-up to the Egyptian national team in 2018 but made his debut in 2021 during a friendly match against Liberia.
His consistent performances earned him a place in the Pharaohs' squad for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023).
Additionally, he has been included in Egypt's current camp for the Capital Cup friendly tournament, which will take place from 22nd to 26th March and features New Zealand, Tunisia, and Croatia.
