Defending champions Ahly will be hosted by Simba on Friday, with the second leg set to be held in Cairo on 5 April.

According to the club’s official website, Ahly’s travelling squad included El-Shahat who recovered from his injury that sidelined him from the recent national team camp.

International players joined their teammates directly at the airport after ending Tuesday’s 4-2 friendly loss to Croatia in the Egypt Capital Cup final.

Defender Mahmoud Metwally and winger Ahmed Abdel-Kader were available in the travelling squad after being on the sidelines for a while. Meanwhile, Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali was absent as he is continuing his rehabilitation programme.

The winner of Friday’s clash will go on to face the victor of the TP Mazembe (DR Congo) vs Petro de Luanda (Angola) encounter in the semi-finals.
