The Cairo Giants, who have not won an African title since 2019, will meet Modern Future FC in the second leg of the Confederation Cup quarterfinals at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday.

The White Knights hold a 2-1 advantage from the first leg.

The winner will face the winner between Stade Malien from Mali and Ghana's DREAMS FC.

"We have prepared diligently for this game to qualify for the semifinals and win the title," said the 53-year-old Portuguese tactician Gomes, who took the hem at the club in February, during the pre-match press conference.

"The passing of Mohamed Medhat was a challenging moment for us. I informed the players that we must give our best and claim the championship in honour of Medhat's legacy," Gomes expressed.

"The past week has been difficult due to injuries - particularly Obama breaking his jaw. We are yet to determine his return date."
