The Cairo giants Zamalek secured a spot in the semi-finals of the prestigious continental tournament after a 1-1 draw against fellow Egyptians Modern Future FC in the second leg at Cairo Stadium on Sunday.

With a 2-1 away victory in the first leg last week, the White Knights advanced with a 3-2 aggregate score.

“We dominated the game and the ball, but we only lack one crucial thing, turning this domination to goals,” the Portuguese coach said in a press conference after the match.

“All players are suffering from doing faults; some of them lose football, and others waste scoring chances, even those who are playing attacking football,” he added.

In the semi-finals, Zamalek will face Ghanaian side Dreams, who earned their spot after a 3-2 aggregate win over Stade Malien.

Zamalek will host the Ghanaian side on Sunday 21 April, with the second leg taking place in Ghana one week later.
