The win helped Zamalek advance to the 12 th place in the league table with 18 points, 11 points behind leaders Pyramids FC who played two matches more.

They also got a morale boost ahead the Cairo derby against Ahly set to be played on Monday at Cairo stadium.

Zizo opened the scoring in the 14 th minute after capitalizing from Masry defender mistake Seif Teka to beat the keeper on his near post.

He missed the chance to double the lead in the 26 th minute when his curling shot hit the post while striker Samson Akinyoola who was on the follow failed to score in an empty net.

Eight minutes later winter-signing midfielder Nasser Maher added the second after a nice pass from fullback Ahmed Fatouh, to score his maiden with the White Knights.

Akinyoola scored with a nice lob but he was unlucky to see his goal disallowed after VAR review for offside just before the break.

Masry only real chance came ten minutes into the second half when Ahmed Adel went clear from around 40 meters but his effort went over the bar.

Substitute striker Seif Jaziri rose about his marker in the 77 th minute but his header was refused by the post.

With two minutes remaining Zizo added the second with a nice lob to take his goal tally to six goals so far.
