Cairo giants Ahly headed to DR Congo on Wednesday ahead of the anticipated match against TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League.

The reigning champions Ahly will be hosted by their Congolese counterparts on Saturday in the first leg of the prestigious continental tournament semi-final.

The return match will be held in Cairo on 27 April.

However, despite the setback of losing several influential players to injuries, the Red Devils will welcome back attacking duo Mohamed Dhaoui and Percy Tau after recovering from their injuries.

The Cairo giants advanced to the semis for the 20th time in the club's history, and the fifth consecutive time, after beating Tanzania’s Simba 3-0 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, TP Mazembe reached the same round after a 2-1 on aggregate victory over Petro Atletico.
