The White Knights fail to convert several clear goal-scoring opportunities, especially in the second half when they dominated the game.

To advance to the final, they will need to avoid loss in the second leg away from home in Ghana on Sunday 28 April.

"We didn't play well. The team made many tactical mistakes, and the players lacked pace," Gomes told BeIN Sports after the match.

"Despite these shortcomings, we missed numerous chances to win the game. "

The Portuguese coach acknowledged the challenges they will face in the second leg, including the heat, humidity, and the condition of the pitches in Ghana.

However, he expressed full confidence in his players and their abilities.

"We missed the target many times in Cairo, but we can score in Ghana."

Gomes emphasized the need for complete concentration in the crucial upcoming match, and he concluded by saying, "I know we are in for a tough clash in Ghana, but I have faith in my players and their capabilities." he concluded.
