The White Knights secured a convincing 3-0 away win over Dreams FC, securing their place in the final of the competition.
In the first leg, Zamalek were held to a goalless draw at home, but Gomes stated that the team learned from that match and deserved the victory in Ghana.
He praised the team's efforts and emphasized their intention to win the game.
"We did a good job," Gomes told the post-match news conference.
"We came here to win, and I said before the game that when we controlled the game, we do a great job.
“We produced a different performance than the first leg, and we deserved the win."
In the final, Zamalek will face the winner of the match between RS Berkane from Morocco and USMA from Algeria.
RS Berkane were awarded a 3-0 win in the first leg of their semi-final after the game was called off due to a jersey dispute.
Zamalek will play the first leg of the final away from home on May 12, with the second leg taking place in Cairo one week later.
