The Red Devils have been struggling in the league but were able to claim back-to-back wins over Ismaily 2-1 on then Gouna.

As a result of this victory, the Red Devils are 9th place in the league table with 27 points, while Gouna, having played seven more games, remains in 6th place with 28 points.

Ahly took the lead just before the break when Emam unleashed a powerful long-range strike that found the back of the net, breaking through Gouna's resolute defense.

Defender Mahmoud Metwalli extended Ahly's lead in the 63rd minute with a well-executed header, capitalizing on a superb pass from the right corner by Tunisian fan-favorite, Ali Maaloul.

In the 80th minute, substitute Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneim secured the victory for Ahly by converting a penalty kick.

Despite their efforts in the second half, Ahly encountered difficulties breaking down Gouna's compact defense.

Coach Marcel Koller made substitutions early into the second half, bringing on Moroccan winger Reda Slim and midfielder Akram Tawfik to inject fresh energy into the squad.

Koller further refreshed the frontline by introducing Marwan Attia and Kahraba, aiming to create more scoring opportunities against Gouna.

In the closing minutes of the game, Kahraba missed the chance to grab a brace when his point-blank header went over the bar.

Winger Hussein El-Shahat showcased his skill, forcing a Gouna defender into a challenge that resulted in a penalty kick for Ahly, duly awarded just ten minutes before the final whistle.

The highlight of the game was in the 61st minute when veteran Tunisian full back Ali Maaloul wore the armband for the first time in his 8-year old career with Ahly after Karim Walid left the pitch.

Ahly will face Ittihad of Alexandria in a postponed game from the 9th matchday, scheduled for Tuesday.
