The Portuguese coach also expressed his players' preparedness for the upcoming clash, assuring that they will give their utmost to represent a prestigious team and promising to prioritize fair play.

"All the players in the squad are ready for the game, and it would be unfair to discuss the absentees," stated Gomes during the pre-game press conference.

Zamalek will encounter obstacles as several key players, including winger Mostafa Shalaby, defenders Mostafa El-Zennari and Mahmoud 'El-Wensh' Hamdi, and veteran skipper Mahmoud 'Shikabala' Abdel-Razek, will miss the highly anticipated match due to injuries.

"We anticipate a challenging game, and I have already determined the replacement for injured winger Mostafa Shalaby," added the Zamalek coach.

The White Knights enter the match with an impressive 11-match unbeaten streak in the African second competition, having only suffered defeat in their campaign opener against Djibouti's Arta Solar.

"The team has performed well throughout the continental tournament, remaining undefeated since reaching the final. This will undoubtedly motivate the players ahead of the clash against RS Berkane," stated Gomes.

"RS Berkane is a formidable team with a well-organized defence and talented players. However, we have confidence in our tactics to handle such situations," concluded the Portuguese coach.

The second leg of the game is scheduled to take place in Cairo on 19 May.
