The White Knights' hopes of clinching the Confederation Cup title remain alive, thanks to a second-half goal by Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri in Morocco.

Speaking on a television program after the match, Shehata expressed determination and promised a comeback in the upcoming game in Cairo.

"Coach Gomes rallied us during the break, reminding us that we are a formidable team with the ability to score," said the 23-year-old midfielder.

"Although we are dissatisfied with the result, I pledge to both please our supporters and avenge our loss in Cairo," he added.

Zamalek, having secured the African Confederation Cup title in 2019 by defeating RS Berkane in the final, is now vying for their second championship.

The highly anticipated second leg is scheduled to take place in Cairo on May 19.
