After clinching their second Confederation Cup title, Zamalek enters their domestic league fixture against Modern Future FC at Arab Contractors Stadium in Cairo on Thursday.

Buoyant Zamalek

The club is currently 13th in the league table with 24 points, trailing leaders Pyramids FC by 26 points, albeit having played six games fewer.

A victory in this clash will be important for Zamalek to climb up the table.

Zamalek boasts a flawless record against Modern Future FC, having emerged victorious in all five of their previous encounters since their first meeting in the domestic league two years ago.

They also faced off in the Confederation Cup quarterfinals, with Zamalek winning the first leg 2-1 and drawing 1-1 in the second leg, securing their place in the competition's semifinals at the expense of Modern Future FC.

Coach Jose Gomes has announced his 21-man squad for the game, confirming the absence of midfielder Ahmed Hamdi due to an ACL injury.

Hamdi, who scored the winning goal in the Confederation Cup final, sustained the injury shortly after his crucial contribution.

Fullback Ahmed Fatouh will also miss the game due to a muscle injury.

However, Gomes will regain the services of midfielders Abdallah El-Saed and Nasser Maher, who were ineligible to play in the continental competition.

Their return will provide a significant boost to the team, particularly in the attacking level.

On the other hand, veteran coach Talaat Youssef, who led Modern Future to a last-minute victory over Enppi in his first appearance with the team last week, aims to help the team maintain their winning rhythm.

The win against Enppi ended a six-game winless streak for Modern Future (four in the domestic league and two in the Confederation Cup) who lie ninth with 30 points.

These poor results led to the departure of the team's former coach, Tamer Mostafa.
