Since their first meeting in the domestic league two years ago, Zamalek had emerged victorious in all five previous encounters before the draw on Thursday.

Tunisian striker Seif Jaziri opened the scoring for Zamalek in the 35th minute, but midfielder Mohamed Sadek equalized for Modern Future six minutes later.

The first half saw limited chances as Zamalek players appeared fatigued following their recent continental victory.

Modern Future focused on containing Zamalek's shy attempts and relied on counterattacks without posing a significant threat.

In the 35th minute, Omar Gaber intercepted the ball from an opponent defender and delivered a well-placed cross to Seif Jaziri, who comfortably scored from close range.

This goal marked the fifth for the Tunisian striker in the domestic league and the seventh across all competitions.

However, six minutes later, a defensive lapse allowed Modern Future to equalize as Mohamed Sadek capitalized on a rebounded ball from Zamalek defenders.

Midfielder Nasser Maher squandered a golden opportunity in the 70th minute when he failed to score into an empty net.

Zamalek's coach introduced forwards Youssef Ibrahim, Samson Akinyoola, and striker Nasser Mansi in an attempt to secure the winning goal, but they were unable to make a decisive impact.

This draw follows Zamalek's previous 1-0 loss to Smouha.

The White Knights will next visit Ittihad of Alexandria on Monday. With the draw, Zamalek currently sit in 13th place in the league table with 25 points.
