Both games were supposed to be played from 28 May to 1 June, during the upcoming international break, but the EFA decided to postpone the game for any team that will miss more than three players to the national team.

“Ahly v Aluminum, Zamalek v Proxy FC games in Egypt Cup round of 32 were postponed as there are more than three players from Ahly and Zamalek in the national team squad, but Pyramids FC v El Nasr game will be played on time [31 May] as Pyramids only misses two players with the national team,” the EFA explained in a statement.

The Pharaohs will start their preparatory camp on Tuesday amid preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau on 6 and 11 June, respectively.

Egypt coach Hossam Hassan has called up ten Ahly players and four from the Whites for the World Cup qualifiers camp.

Ahly are the Egypt Cup reigning champions as they secured their record-extending 39th Egyptian Cup title with a 2-0 victory over Zamalek at the Alawwal Park stadium in Riyadh. Zamalek, with 28 titles, will be looking to close the gap on their historic rivals in this year's edition.
