Zamalek got back on track in the domestic league with a convincing 2-0 away win against Ittihad of Alexandria at Borg El-Arab Stadium on Monday.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Smouha in their previous game at the same venue, followed by a 1-1 home draw against Modern Future FC, Zamalek displayed their determination to bounce back.

Nasser Maher and Seif Jaziri played instrumental roles in securing the victory for the team.

Zamalek showcased their attacking intent from the start, with Seif Jaziri missing an early opportunity to give his side the lead in the 2nd minute.

Playmaker Nasser Maher broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with a powerful strike from the edge of the area, courtesy of excellent work from Tunisian striker Seif Jaziri and Omar Gaber.

Senegalese striker Ibrahima Ndaye came close to adding a second goal, but his volley from inside the area narrowly missed the target just before the halftime whistle.

Ittihad of Alexandria's Angolan striker, Mabululu, had a chance to equalize, but his close-range effort went wide.

In the 58th minute, Seif Jaziri extended Zamalek's lead by calmly slotting the ball into an empty net after receiving a well-placed cross from Ndaye.

Following the goal, Zamalek controlled the game, with players squandering several clear chances to increase their lead.

Substitute Zeyad Kamal thought he had added a third goal in the dying minutes, but it was ultimately disallowed after a VAR check.

Zamalek currently sits in 12th place in the league table with 27 points from 17 games.
