Cairo giants Ahly hope to continue their winning run in the Egyptian Premier League when they face rivals Ittihad of Alexandria on Tuesday.

Ahly

Ahly aim to secure their sixth successive league victory in the 26th round of the domestic competition hosted by the coastal club.

On the other hand, Ittihad, who lost their last three league games, hope to secure their first win over Ahly since 2018.

Holders Ahly currently lie fourth in the league table with 36 points from 16 games, 20 points behind leaders Pyramids FC, while Ittihad come in sixth place with 36 points from 25 games.

In Tuesday’s game, Ahly will be boosted by the return of midfielder Akram Tawfik after recovering from an injury.

However, injured duo striker Wessam Abou Ali and South African winger Percy Tau will remain on the sidelines.

Although Ittihad will miss key striker Cristovao Mabululo due to suspension, coach Tarek El-Ashry will depend on Ghanaian striker Benjamin Boateng to fill the gap.
