Videos showed Awwad engaged in an angry exchange with Zamalek defender Hosam Abdel-Meguid, followed by Awwad pushing him after Masry scored their second goal.

Following the match, the club's Football director, Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed, revealed that the player's contract would be subject to a 25% deduction due to his behavior towards his teammate.

Awwad was initially on the bench but came on as a substitute for Mohamed Sobhi, who suffered a muscle injury during the pre-match warm-up.

Zamalek currently sit in 11th place in the table with 31 points, but they still have seven matches remaining.

They are set to face Pharco FC on Friday before the highly anticipated Cairo derby against Ahly on Tuesday.
