The match took an unexpected turn in the 18th minute when Pyramids FC goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawi committed a blunder, failing to block an easy shot from Arab Contractors' midfielder Joseph Ochaya.
This goal threatened to end Pyramids FC's 11-match winning streak, and the hosts struggled to equalize during the first half.
However, the second half witnessed a resurgence from Pyramids FC as they intensified their attacks.
Within a span of nine minutes, they found the back of the net three times.
Mayele displayed his skill by meeting a precise cross from Mohamed El-Chibi with a well-executed header, leveling the score in the 59th minute.
Shortly after, in the 63rd minute, Ibrahim Adel scored a wonderful goal.
Mayele then sealed the victory in the 68th minute, taking his goal tally to 11 goals in the league, one short of the league’s top scorer, Hossam Ossama of Baladeyet El-Mahalla.
Pyramids FC maintained their position at the top of the league table with 62 points. However, they are currently 20 points adrift of Ahly, who have seven matches on hand.
