Pyramids FC currently lead the table with 62 points, holding a substantial 17-point advantage over second-placed Ahly, who still have six matches to play.
A crucial match between Pyramids FC and Ahly is scheduled for July 22nd in the second round, ten days after their postponed game from the first round.
The results of these two matches will play a significant role in determining the domestic league champions.
As per the fixtures released by the EPL, Ahly will have to play 15 games within a span of 49 days, while the fate of Zamalek, whose participation in the competition remains uncertain, is scheduled to play 13 games in 48 days.
Zamalek refused to participate in the Cairo derby on Tuesday following a decision by the Cairo giants management to escalate their dispute with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) and the EPL after their controversial loss against Masry earlier this month.
Consequently, the EPL deemed Ahly as the winner of the match, and Zamalek received a financial fine and a three-point deduction.
Zamalek are set to face Ceramica Cleopatra on Friday, but it is unclear whether the club will participate in the game or maintain their stance.
The Confederation Cup winners are tenth in the league table with 34 points from 21 games.
