Zamalek's recent actions have courted controversy, as they refused participation in the Cairo derby against arch-rivals Ahly during the 27th matchday on Monday, forfeiting three points and earning a substantial fine.

The White Knights' decision stemmed from their dissatisfaction with recent "unfair" refereeing decisions that cost them a 2-1 defeat to Masry last week.

After the loss to Masry, Zamalek filed a complaint to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), fielding four demands to be addressed before they can continue participation in the league.

After some of their demands - not all - were heeded by the Egyptian Pro League (EPL), Zamalek made a U-turn and agreed to face Ceramica Cleopatra.

Injury woes persist
 

Zamalek will face significant challenges as several key players, including captain Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdel-Razek, defender Ahmed Fatouh, and striker Seifeddine Jaziri, remain sidelined due to injuries.

Currently placed 11th with 31 points from 21 games, Zamalek will be hoping to bounce back against a Ceramica Cleopatra side aiming to climb the table.

On the opposing side, Ceramica Cleopatra find themselves in 8th place with 37 points from 26 games.

Ayman Elramady's men will be eager to secure a victory, not only to improve their league position but also to avenge their recent 2-1 defeat against Zamalek.
