Zamalek were held to a 1-1 draw by Pharco FC in a league game at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium on Wednesday.

Winger Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed opened the scoring in the 28th minute, while Pharco FC forward Shoukry Naguib leveled the score 11 minutes later.

In their previous encounter two weeks ago, Zamalek managed to secure a 2-1 victory.

However, this term the White Knights were unable to claim a win.

The point earned by Pharco FC could prove crucial in their battle against relegation, as they currently sit on the edge of the relegation zone with 26 points, three points ahead of Baladeyet El-Mahalla, who have played one fewer match.

Zamalek, on the other hand, remain in ninth place in the table with 38 points from 23 games.

Lacking a natural striker, Zamalek struggled to pose a significant threat to their hosts.

They finally found the back of the net after approximately 30 minutes from a penalty awarded for a foul against Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed inside the area.

The classy winger converted the penalty, taking his goal tally to nine for the season, including four penalties.

Pharco FC equalized from the spot in the 39th minute, thanks to Shoukry Naguib.

The second half was a boring affair, with Zamalek attempting to score the winner but their shy attempts were insufficient to seriously threaten the hosts, who seemed content with the draw.

Zamalek's next fixture is against Ismaily on Sunday, while Pharco FC will host Dakhleya one day later.
