The ongoing 2023/24 season of the Egyptian Premier League (EPL) will conclude in mid-August.
"We appreciate the intense competition among the league teams, as every team aims to win the title. However, a final decision regarding EPL will be announced in coordination with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA)," Sobhy stated in a television program on Thursday.
"The Egyptian national teams will be given priority in general," he added.
Egyptian media reports speculate the postponement of Egyptian league games for two or three matchdays due to the U-23 national team's participation in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
"All necessary decisions will be made in collaboration between the EPL and the EFA. I am currently awaiting their report," Sobhy explained.
Salah opts out of Paris Olympic Games
Sobhy also announced that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah will not be part of the U-23 national team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
"From the beginning, Mohamed Salah informed the EFA that he will not participate in the 2024 Olympic Games. However, he will return to Egypt's senior national team in September," he explained.
The Olympics are scheduled to take place from 26 July to 11 August, with the men's football tournament commencing on 24 July.
