The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had set 5 July as a deadline for Zamalek to settle their financial obligations, with a transfer ban looming if they failed to comply.

The club reached an agreement, the details of which were not disclosed, with the Moroccan forward Boutaib following arduous negotiations and strenuous efforts, Zamalek's spokesperson Ahmed Salem said.

Boutaib had previously filed a complaint with FIFA after his contract was terminated in 2019 due to recurring injuries.

This is not the first time for Zamalek to face a transfer ban. In 2023, the club encountered a similar situation but successfully resolved outstanding debts with other players and clubs.

Even though Boutaib's case is settled, Zamalek still needs to address financial issues with former assistant coaches Andre Oliveira and Daniel Gonzalez.
