This win solidified Pyramids FC position at the top of the league table with 68 points, placing them 14 points ahead of second-placed Ahly, who still have five matches in hand.

Ahly is set to host Pyramids FC at Cairo Stadium on Friday.

The scoring started in the 28th minute when South African forward Fagrie Lakay found the back of the net.

Shortly after the break, international fullback Mohamed Hamdi doubled the lead in the 31st minute.

Congolese striker Fiston Mayele added to the tally, making it 3-0 two minutes before the hour mark and claiming his 13th goal of the season, leading the Egyptian league's top scorers' chart.

Substitute winger Mahmoud Abdel-Hafiz completed the rout in the 70th minute.

Despite his goal, Abdel-Hafiz missed several scoring opportunities, preventing his club from setting a new record this season.

Pyramids FC's biggest victory of the season remains a 4-0 win over Gouna.
