Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali's 28th-minute goal, his 11th of the season, proved decisive in the closely contested match.

This win marks Ahly's second victory over Pyramids in ten days, following a 3-2 triumph on 12 July, further solidifying their pursuit of a 44th league title.

Both teams fielded largely unchanged lineups, with Ahly coach Marcel Koller introducing Moroccan winger Reda Slim for the injured Taher Mohamed, while Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic opted for Ahmed Tawfik and Mohamed Chibi in his starting eleven.

Ahly dominated early possession, but it was Pyramids who first tested the goalkeeper when Chibi's long-range effort was easily saved by Mohamed El-Shennawy in the 10th minute.

Pyramids' penalty appeal in the 15th minute was dismissed after a VAR review, and Ahly capitalized on the momentum.

Emam Ashour intercepted the ball in midfield and released Abou Ali, who calmly slotted home the game's only goal.

Pyramids increased their attacking intent after the break, with substitute Mahmoud Zalaka narrowly missing an equalizer shortly after coming on.

The match took a dramatic turn in the 75th minute when Pyramids' Chibi received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Hussein El-Shahat.

However, Ahly's numerical advantage was short-lived as defender Khaled Abdel Fattah was also sent off for a second bookable offense.

Pyramids FC attacked en masse in the final minutes, leaving spaces at the back.

Substitutes Mohamed “Afsha” Magdy and Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim squandered golden chances to secure the win, but Ahly held on for a crucial narrow victory.
