The Cairo giants are focused on both defending their league title and extending their remarkable winning streak to 16 consecutive league games.
Currently occupying second place in the standings with 66 points from 26 matches played, Ahly have three games in hand over league leaders Pyramids FC, who top the table with 68 points.
On the other side, Masry, sitting third in the league with 52 points from 30 games, are enjoying a commendable season.
A victory for Ahly on Friday, coupled with triumphs in their remaining two postponed fixtures, could potentially propel them ahead of Pyramids FC by seven points with five matches left in the season.
Despite missing key players such as Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul, midfielder Amr El-Sulaya, and Ahmed Abdel-Kader, the Red Devils remain determined in their quest for league success.
On the other hand, Masry are eager to secure a spot in the African Confederation Cup, currently holding a two-point advantage over fourth-placed Modern Sport, who have played one game more.
In their previous encounter in September 2023, Ahly convincingly defeated Masry 4-0 on the opening matchday of the ongoing Egyptian Premier League season.
