A stuttering Zamalek side aims for a victory on Monday as they visit relegation-threatened Arab Contractors in a delayed league match.

Zamalek

Zamalek couldn't maintain their lead against Pyramids FC on Friday, settling for a 1-1 draw at home in Cairo Stadium.

The draw halted Zamalek's progress in the league standings, leaving them in fifth place with 46 points from 28 matches.

A win against Arab Contractors could help them in their bid to reach the third place, currently held by Masry with 52 points, albeit having played three more games.

Zamalek task won't be easy against Arab Contractors, who understand the significance of avoiding defeat against the Cairo Giants to improve their chances of escaping the relegation zone.

Arab Contractors currently sit second from the bottom with 21 points, trailing Pharco FC who sit on the edge of the relegation zone by nine points, with the Alexandria-based side have played two matches more.

Coach Jose Gomes expressed dissatisfaction with the prolonged season. Gomes remarked, "I have never experienced such a season in my career. Frankly, I'm unsure about the upcoming season," following the match against Pyramids FC.

Gomes highlighted the players' need for rest before the next season, expressing frustration over the limited time available for recovery.

It remains uncertain whether Gomes will field his regular starting lineup or provide opportunities to young players like Ammar Yasser, Ahmed Abdel-Rehim, or Ahmed Magdy to offer respite to the regular starters.
