The victory marked the 17th consecutive league win for the Cairo giants, equaling the record set by legendary coach Manuel Jose in the 2004/2005 season.

Swiss coach Marcel Koller could break the record if he beats NBE club on Thursday.

Wessam Abou Ali was the star of the show, scoring twice, providing an assist, and drawing a penalty as Ahly edge closer to their 44th league title.

The win propels Ahly to 72 points from 28 matches, extending their lead at the top of the table. Ceramica Cleopatra remain in eighth position with 44 points.

The Palestinian forward opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a well-placed shot from inside the box.

Ceramica Cleopatra equalized through Ahmed Kendouci in the second half after capitalizing on a quick counter in the 50th minute.

Emam Ashour restored Ahly's superiority after converting a penalty in the 63rd minute.

Abou Ali struck again with a free-kick in the 95th minute, before Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed completed the rout in the 97th minute with a sublime finish.

Abou Ali's impressive performance also saw him join Pyramids' Fiston Mayele at the top of the league's scoring chart with 14 goals.
