Wessam Abou Ali scored the winner with a powerful free-kick in the eighth minute. The strike not only secured the three points for Ahly but helped them register a new record in the domestic league history.
The goal was Abu Ali’s second consecutive free-kick strike, highlighting his growing reputation as a set-piece specialist.
With this victory, the Red Devils surpassed the previous record of 17 consecutive wins held by their former coach Manuel Jose.
The win propels Ahly to 75 points from 29 matches, five points clear of second-placed Pyramids FC who have played two games more. With just five matches remaining, the Red Devils require only four points to secure the league title.
Abou Ali's goal also solidified his position as the league's top scorer, surpassing nearest competitors with one goal.
NBE Club offered stiff resistance but were unable to breach the resolute Ahly defence. The defeat leaves them in 12th position with 34 points from 32 matches.
