The 24-year-old sustained the injury during Ahly's 1-0 victory over Smouha at Alexandria's Borg stadium, where the Red Devils were officially crowned Egyptian champions this season.
"Scans and medical tests have confirmed that Karim Fouad has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee," Ahly's doctor told the club's official website on Sunday.
This marks the second time that the former Nojoom player has faced an ACL injury, having undergone surgery on his left knee last season.
"It's the second time I've experienced an ACL injury, but I'm grateful for everything," Karim Fouad wrote on his Facebook account on Sunday.
"I will strive to make a quick return."
Since his arrival at the club in the summer of 2021, he has secured nine different titles.
Initially a right back, Fouad displayed impressive performances after stepping in for the injured left back Ali Maaloul, who is grappling with an Achilles tendon rupture.
Throughout this season, Fouad has featured in 39 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
