Pyramids FC faced a significant challenge after defender Mahmoud Marei received a straight red card in the 58th minute, forcing the team to play with 10 men for the remainder of the match. Despite the setback, both teams were unable to find a winner in regulation time, leading to the decisive penalty shootout, which Pyramids FC ultimately won.
In the other semifinal, ZED FC secured their place in the final for the first time in the club's history by defeating Ismaily 1-0.
Pyramids FC, having fallen short in the 2018/2019 and 2021/2022 seasons, will now face ZED FC in the final on Friday, aiming to clinch their first Egypt Cup title.
