The 28-year-old whose contract with the club end at the next summer was strongly linked with a Gulf move during the passing few days.

Zamalek officials met with the player several times to decide his future and renew his contract without reaching an agreement with him.

“I will remain here,” Zizo wrote on his Instagram account on Wednesday.

“Zamalek are more than a club and let continue our journey together.”

The international winger who joined Zamalek from Portuguese side Moreirense FC in January 2019 became one of the Egyptian league best performers.

He helped the club win two Confederation Cup titles, two domestic league trophies, two Egypt Cups, CAF Super Cup and Egypt Super Cup.

Zizo made 229 appearances with Zamalek in all fronts, scoring 76 goals and providing 63 assists.
