FIFA have officially lifted the transfer ban placed on Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek after the club settled outstanding dues to an undisclosed party, as announced by the global football governing body in their weekly ban update on Monday.

In May, Zamalek faced a transfer ban from FIFA amid reports in the Egyptian media linking the sanction to overdue payments to a former assistant coach during the tenure of former Portuguese manager Jesualdo Ferreira.

This recent ban follows a similar restriction imposed on the club last year, which was successfully overturned by the new management through fulfilling financial obligations towards other clubs and players.

During the current transfer window, Zamalek have made a solitary signing by securing Moroccan left-back Mahmoud Bentayg on loan from the French side Saint-Étienne for the upcoming season.

Zamalek, known as the Cairo giants, capped off the previous season by clinching the Confederation Cup, securing a third-place finish in the Egyptian Premier League, and exiting the competition at the round of 16 stage.
