Pyramids FC kicked off their continental journey with a first-leg 1-1 draw in Rwanda last week, ultimately claiming a 3-2 aggregate win.

Dauda Seidu gave visitors APR FC an early lead just 11 minutes into the match with a powerful strike from outside the box.

Moroccan right-back Mohamed Chibi levelled the score for Pyramids FC just before halftime, providing relief as both teams headed to the dressing room.

In the 67th minute, Congolese striker Fiston Mayele netted the second goal for Pyramids FC, while Karim Hafez sealed the victory with a goal during injury time, securing the Egyptian side's place in the prestigious tournament's group stage.

Pyramids FC, emerging as a prominent force in Egyptian football, are on a mission to overcome past setbacks in continental competitions, notably their heartbreaking loss in the 2019 African Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane of Morocco.

Following their triumph in the Egypt Cup, Pyramids FC finished as runners-up in the Egyptian League standings, trailing champions Ahly by six points, demonstrating their ambition and growing stature in the realm of African football.
