"I will keep the lineup under wraps for now, as there's a surprise in store," Koller revealed during the pre-game press conference.
The clash between CAF Champions League titleholders Ahly and Africa Confederation Cup champions Zamalek is slated to unfold at the Kingdom Arena Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday.
"We are delighted to participate in this highly anticipated match in Saudi Arabia and are well-prepared to face Zamalek, especially following our commendable start in the CAF Champions League earlier this month," expressed the Ahly coach.
The Red Devils kicked off their 2025 CAF Champions League campaign with an impressive 6-0 aggregate victory over Kenya's Gor Mahia FC, securing a spot in the group stage.
"Our drive to clinch the Africa Super Cup is high as this triumph would set a positive tone for our season. We are determined to emerge victorious," stated Koller.
Introducing a batch of new signings for the season, Koller has welcomed defender Youssef Ayman from Qatari club Al-Duhail SC, midfielder Omar El-Saaiy from Ismaily, Moroccan left-back Yahia Attiyat Allah from Russian side PFC Sochi, and defender Achraf Dari from French outfit Brest into the squad.
"With the likes of Youssef Ayman and Achraf Dari bolstering our defence, our recent performances have been solid, keeping clean sheets in our last two matches," highlighted the Ahly coach.
"There's no distinction between facing Zamalek in domestic or continental competitions; our focus remains on giving our best. I am eager to see the game unfold with the presence of fans," affirmed Koller.
Ahly boast a rich history in the Africa Super Cup, clinching the title a record eight times, while Zamalek has secured victory on four occasions.
